Don Fabian is principal saxophone, soloist and personnel manager with the Dallas Winds. The Dallas Morning News praised his virtuosity and musicality, saying Don “…gave a stunning performance, pulsing with drama and almost unimaginable color.” A graduate of the Crane School of Music, S.U.N.Y. at Potsdam, New York, he earned his bachelor’s degree in performance and music education under Dr. James Stoltie. His master’s degree was completed in multiple woodwinds and saxophone performance at Michigan State University with James Forger.

A fluid performer in all saxophone styles, from the orchestra pit of the Dallas Opera and Dallas Summer Musicals to the stage of the Meyerson Symphony Center, Don is an active performer and comprehensive teacher in the musical life of Dallas and its vibrant surrounding communities. He is presently the Adjunct Professor of saxophone at Southern Methodist University.

David works full-time as a software project manager for Thomson Reuters but his musical talents keep him in demand with audiences. He has been a member of the Dallas Winds since 1991, appearing on 13 CD releases and performing as featured soloist, as well as serving as staff arranger and webmaster. He also plays with The Singapore Slingers, a retro-jazz orchestra that plays music of the 1920’s and 30’s. David is also co-founder of the Irish band 5 Second Rule, performing Celtic music at festivals, pubs and concerts. His original compositions and arrangements have been wildly successful, prompting the creation of his publishing company Lovebird Music in 2007. His most most recognizable work, Minor Alterations, has sold over 600 copies to bands and orchestras worldwide.

Chris is Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Texas A&M University-Commerce, teaching applied saxophone lessons, coaching quartets and conducting the saxophone choir. Additionally, he directs Jazz Ensemble I and teaches courses in jazz improvisation and jazz history. He holds degrees from the University of Memphis (DMA-saxophone performance), University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MM-saxophone performance) and Austin Peay State University (BS-music education). Equally comfortable in many different genres including classical, jazz and popular, Dr. Beaty has been an active soloist, chamber musician and educator for over 20 years. Recent highlights include selection as a 2011 Fulbright Teaching Scholar to Latvia and the release of his first solo jazz CD (Sax in Santa Fe) in 2009, hailed by the Santa Fe Jazz Examiner who wrote, “selections are arranged and performed in a hip, contemporary sounding jazz groove… his lyrical side shines.” 2012-14 performances include the World Saxophone Congress in Scotland, North American Saxophone Alliance conferences in Illinois and Texas, concerto performances in Memphis and Commerce, and Jazz Festival and Commercial appearances in Missouri, New Mexico and the famous House of Blues in Dallas.

John is co-founder of Five Star Advisor Partners, a Richardson based financial services providing financial services and income tax preparation to families and businesses in Texas and New England. John has been a member of the Dallas Winds since 1992 and the Texas Saxophone Quartet since 1991.

John holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baylor University. John served 14 years as Place 1 (1989-2001) & Place 7 (2005-2007) Council Member for the Richardson City Council in Richardson, Texas. John currently represents the City of Richardson as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Texas Municipal Water District where he has served since 2007.
